I just got a Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 and have begun shooting sports photography. I'm having a problem shooting at basketball games though. The color seems to be too dark even at 800 ISO. I'm shooting hand held and wanted to know if anyone had some tips for this type of photography.

I know sony has dynamic range ability. I'm not 100% sure but I think that brings out color and detail, but it may compromise by giving more noise (if that's a common camera ability).

What about in camera settings for sharpness, contrast, etc? Not sure this helps, but maybe it got you thinking.
