So how do you do it?

I store all initial downloads on a RAID5 array (six 500GB drives gives me 2.5TB of storage). I back that up to a D-Link DNS-321 NAS with two 1.5TB drives in a JBOD array. That means that a minor failure on my main machine, and I can replace one drive with no loss, however a loss of data due to either human error, or multiple hardware failures and I have backup on a seperate device.

My methodology:

RAW's captured to CF
If for a client, in the field, the card gets backed up to a Hyperdrive Space
Back at "base", card in card reader, import from device in Lightroom onto the RAID 1 array in my PC.
If for a client, run a little vb script/batch to send all those RAW's to an external drive
In Lightroom, X (Reject) and P (Pick), through the images very quickly, delete rejects
Run a different script to send the remaining ones to a different external drive
In the background, overnight, whenever, I have a Mozy Pro account, sending those files on the external drives off to them.
If for a client, burn the "all RAW" external drive to an archival quality DVD.
For "finals", I export from Lightroom to a "develop" directory on the RAID 1 array in my PC.
That directory is Synctoy'd to the non "all RAW" external drive. And, Mozy is getting those as well.

Every so often, I prune off the stuff on the local RAID 1 array, and let the externals + Mozy be the backup.

That about does it, for now...
