I spent the day at this 100 year old operational factory that makes landing belts for the military. This was an experiment to see how I handle a situation that is no about capturing people but capturing inanimate objects.
It is always a challenge to step out from your normal photography comfort zone and try something new. I found out very quickly that this factory offered me numerous opportunities for images.
At first is was the yarn in spools than it was the machines themselves to the people working them. But something caught my eye, i noticed there were chairs everywhere, chairs that ranged in age from the 30's on. I was told that as the factories shrunk over the years and they closed buildings down they moved the chairs into the renaming sections leaving a huge cross section of chairs.
It is funny how you set out to capture one thing and something else ends up being your focus. These chairs really come to life in these images, its like i captured a living object which has its own story.
